Way back in the 1900's John McInnis started a legacy in Prince George.

Mr. McInnis was one of the area's first icons - a true pioneer. He arrived in the region in 1910 and he made his mark very quickly. Known as a businessman, politician, and community worker, Mr. McInnis became respected as a good citizen.

As a builder, Mr. McInnis constructed some of the earliest establishments in Prince George, and in 1920 he started McInnis Building Supplies, a business that has grown and changed in-step with the community. All along, he remained active in the forming of our city, working tirelessly as a social activist and holding posts in provincial government.

In later years Mr. McInnis appointed his son-in-law Percy to take the reins at McInnis. Today, the store's founder would be proud to see his grandson Paul happily servicing the needs of his many customers.

McInnis Lighting stands for the same things it did in John McInnis' day: family, quality, and honest values.
