Put me in danger, damaged car, won't refund On August 22nd, I got a valve gasket cover leak fixed at Travis Auto in Valemount. The next day, it was starting rough and I took it back in. They scanned the battery and told me there was no cause for concern. I was going on a trip to the Columbia Basin area from August 26th through September 2nd. Just before reaching Golden on the evening of the 26th, the engine started making a funny noise. I checked the oil to find it was completely dry, even though that morning it was at 100%. I added some oil and went to a mechanic in Golden the next morning. They told us the gasket had been folded over and the rear right valve cover bolt had been broken. It was spraying oil and could have caught fire on the highway. This info (along with a video of the valve cover spraying oil) was sent to Travis Auto who asked to be put in contact with the mechanic in Golden, adding that "sometimes parts we order can be faulty and we won't know this right away." I gave them the information of the mechanic in Golden, but after more than a week, they had not contacted them. My vehicle was not driveable and nobody in Golden could fix it for several days. My traveling companion and I had tickets to a music festival, so we had to rent a vehicle in order to make it, incurring several hundred dollars more in costs in addition to mechanical costs to fix the initial botched repair. I have been in contact with Travis Auto several times since. They were initially evasive, and are now ignoring me. Overall would not recommend.
