Hello Everyone!

My name is Dawn Humeny. I am the owner/operator of New Horizon Therapeutic Works est. October 15th 2016, now Life Unlimited BodyTalk.

I started my career graduating as a 2200 hour Advanced Remedial Massage Therapist from The Massage Therapy College of Manitoba in Winnipeg in 2001. In December 2009 I became a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner. And after an 18 year career in manual therapy, I retired from Massage in 2019, because I feel that BodyTalk is such a comprehensive healing modality.

I'm licensed through The Natural Health Care Practitioners of Canada and The International BodyTalk Associations.

What is The BodyTalk System?

BodyTalk is a modality that allows us to tap into our bodies' innate healing wisdom (ie. if we get a cut, or break a bone, we don't have to consciously stop and tell every cell in our body what its job is to heal the injury, they already know how).

The way our bodies are able to heal themselves efficiently, is by keeping constant communication between every one of their thousands of different systems, each system/part has to know what every other system/part is up to in order to do its job accordingly.

However, it is when we are affected by stress (ie. physical injury, emotional trauma, or even just the constant stress of daily responsibilities) that those communication lines between systems/parts in the body can get a little garbled or go down completely, and the body can no longer do its job of healing efficiently.

What BodyTalk does, is simply shed light on those lines that have gone down, focusing the brain's attention on directing the body's resources to re-establish the communication lines that are priorities, in order to create the best healing environment for itself.

Essentially, BodyTalk helps the body to recover from stress, which is the number one cause of all symptoms, illness and dysfunction.
