Company Description

We are located in the town of Sechelt, on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Dr. Nelson and his family moved to the area in July 2014. Dr. Nelson completed an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Simon Fraser University. He then completed medical school at the University of Calgary. Dr. Nelson completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia before moving to the Sunshine Coast. He has an active office-based practice in Sechelt. In addition he provides emergency eye care and surgery at Sechelt Hospital.



Dr. Kraukamp joined the practice in 2017. He previously worked at a successful private ophthalmology group practice in Johannesburg, South Africa. Before entering medical school, Dr. Kraukamp completed his Optometry degree, and practiced as an optometrist for 1 year. His desire to manage more complex eye diseases and learn ophthalmic surgery led him to medical school, followed by an ophthalmology residency program. After his residency, Dr. Kraukamp completed an ophthalmology masters degree in glaucoma. Dr. Kraukamp and his family are very pleased to be living on the Sunshine Coast
